Who is Drew?
Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Drew’s love of wine blossomed early in his 20’s with the magic of a single wine: a Zind-Humbrecht 2000 Clos Windsbuhl Pinot Gris. His love affair with European wines has yet to fizzle, spending a number of years as manager for Western Canada’s largest wine retailer, Liberty Wine Merchants. With WSET’s Advanced Diploma and certification as a Spanish Wine Educator, constant palate development and trips to the quality winemaking regions of British Columbia, Washington and Oregon, Drew’s curiosity grew. It was during these visits to wineries that he decided to pursue winemaking, studying for Lincoln University’s Graduate Diploma in V&O program over the 2009 school year. Drew strongly aligns himself with Nicolas Joly’s quote of ”Before a wine is good, it must be true.”
